I have this old boat ( 1961 crestliner falcon ) with the original speedometer.I hasnt worked in donkeys years so i bought a new on Ebay...Its new old stock. I know it hooks up to the pito tube at the back of the boat....There are two electrical connections....do these need to be hooked up for it to work....or is it just to light it up at night?

If you want to know how fast you are going,, buy a Fish Finder with GPS... I did... my speedometer does not work either, they say the intake port is usually plugged up. I cleared mine, still no good,,, GPS speed is more accurate anyway...

Electrics are just for the light. The plastic tube makes the speedo work

Electrical connections on a pitot speedo are simply for the light bulb. Positive and negative.
