I am purchasing this boat and want to know what I am getting. Any idea's of the long term quality of this boat and motor? Also what kind of speed can I expect? I will be using it primarily in the gulf coast bays and rivers not much off shore but can it handle it if I choose to go? Thanks

that's a good rig for fishing and general recreational use in the inshore waters you describe. Offshore--pick your days, don't take more than 3 people and go when other boats are out there. Of course it will have its limitations but you would be safe in rough stuff unlike a bowrider of that size. It will be fine for water sports, cruising, beaching, too.

It's also a good rig for teenagers to take out and for you to teach them boating on.

Palm Beach is a mid-quality boat, generally light and generally with a fairly flat hull (don't know your model) which makes them good for skinny water but a little bumpy in rough water. Not a deal breaker; just a factor.

Engine is fine.

You could practically buy it sight unseen.

I looked at some pics of that model; it'a a "bay boat" hull and will be good for protected water and flats but fairly wet in open water with any wind/chop. I have a similar set-up and enjoy its advantages but know its limitations.

That sounds great, hope so. I held on to my 1977 Glastron with 140 johnny as long as I could but it stayed in my pocket, like my wife!! Took the boat out today it was great, fishing okay. Will post pictures.
