There are (8) water drains on the boat that connect to scuppers which are below the water line. It is a hard piped system. In order for water to come into the bilge there has to be a break probably in one of the fittings. Any ideas how to isolate the problem and effect repair without having to cut up the boat for access to where the break may be?

Most use hose between the cockpit drains and the thru hulls. Most have access but you typically need to be a contortionist to make repairs.

Your boat is getting to the age that plastic thru hulls and drains start to fail. There is very good chance that a thru hull has cracked allowing water to seep in from outside the boat.

I replaced all thru hulls and drains with stainless 3 years ago. About half had obvious cracks in the throat of the fittings and could have failed entirely at any minute. The good part is that I didn't have any problems removing them for replacement. Most I was able to break off by hand.
