I'm preparing to install a new rub rail and almost everyone talks about using 5200 on the screws before driving them in. I'm struggling to find 5200 locally, but have Boatlife Life Seal. Will that be good enough for the job?
Re: Boatlife Life Seal for new screws in rub rail?
yes, pretty sure boatlife is almost the same stuff as 5200, just a different manufacturer and made for underwater use. everyone talks about 5200 because its easy to find

3M 5200 and "Boatlife" are quite different, however either one will work fine for this. (If you have ever tried to separate two pieces of wood that have been bedded with each one you will understand the difference.)
