Rewinding Cable System Steering

I guess I messed up by not taping the cables inside the drum before removing the steering wheel because now I cant seem to get them wound on correctly without twisting. Anyone now of the proper way to wind these back on? The cable system is intact I just removed the drum to prime before painting. Thanks Jennie
