So I purchased Smart Tabs for my 97 Maxum this spring and was all set to install them when I ran into a snag. It appears to me that the spot where I should install them is right where my trailer straps are. See the pictures below. I think the Smart Tabs should go where the pink lines are. Thoughts on what I should do?

+1^^^

I had to move my strap mounts to clear the tabs also.
It is hard to tell by the photo, how much clearance to the frame you have.
Something to watch out for.
Tabs hang down about 4 inches below the hull.
My straps are missing because they are still in winter storage.

The gas shock might want to evict that "McAlphin" badge also!

When attaching your Straps, enter the eyes from the side the strap comes from instead of the back side.
There is more bouncing and sliding going on back there than you realize.
One good bounce and the straps fall out of the eyes.
I didn't believe it until the day I arrived at the launch Ramp with the straps flapping in the wind even though they were still locked closed and as short as I had tightened them to. A real eye opener!

Your welcome!

I just noticed the Ohio plates in your photo.

I live north of Cincinnati so usually Caesar Creek, on the the Ohio river if something good is going on and a few trips down to Lake Cumberland a year.
