Yesterday I went to turn the motor(boat is stored next to house not in the water) and it would only turn in one direction. I removed the fill thumbscrew on the helm, some of the oil shot out and now it works fine. The oil looked good and clean. First thought was maybe air in the system but if that was the case wouldn't it effect the motor turning in both directions, not just one. Would purging the system and maybe even removing the check valve and giving it a good cleaning be a good idea? Hate to have it act up while out on the lake. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: SeaStar Hydraulic Steering

Sounds reasonable to me.
