Will a 1987 factory built (Landau Boats) 40 foot pontoon houseboat have a Coast Guard decal stating maximum number of passengers and/or maximum weight allowed on the boat? If so, where would it likely be located on the houseboat?

I am seriously considering purchasing this boat, where/how on this website might I find current/previous owners of Landau Pontoon Houseboats in order to get their perspective?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Welcome to iboats, Monroe . . .

Yes, no person capacity to guide you. . . so you will have to use your common sense, along with any specific advice that you get.

Hopefully you will fare better than these folks who flipped their 34 foot Silverton yacht with 27 aboard.

None needed. Only restrictions if it's used for commercial use.

...With seating for 18, there are no worries about having to leave anyone sitting on the sidelines while the action is on the water.

Based on this 24 foot Boat that is advertised to carry 18 Passengers....
You should be able to hold well over 30!

Yup, some of the seating capacities are a bit nuts . . . so you do have to stop at the Common Sense Mart before you load up your boat.

Not too long ago, Mastercraft got sued for $30 MM as a result of an injury incident involving their 24 foot boat rated to hold 18 people.
