I am going to be replacing my side panels and my bench seat this winter and was curious, instead of using wood... could i just use Foamed PVC board .50 - .75? I can get it really cheap and rot would never be a problem. Im just worried about being able to staple into it... I prefer not too sue starboard because of the price and how heavy it is...

Any thoughts?

Personally,I wouldn't even give it a second thought! I think it would not hold up as well as you think. Once it gets banged and kinked it looses its stability.

I think that vibration would be your biggest enemy at the attaching hardware points. Agree on damage as grub said. It's neat for trim inside your house, but I think a marine application is out of the question.

I found the following product description on a manufacturers website. In adherance to forum policy, I won't post a link to the vendor
site:

"A geat indoor sign material - also great outdoors if used short term."

Use MDO plywood instead.
