Has anyone installed a boarding ladder on an integrated fiberglass swim platform? Can you bolt it on with lag bolts and adhesive/sealant? Or do you need some kind of backing plate behind the bolts. I don't think I have any way of getting underneath the swim platform to put backing plates on.

LAg bolts will not work. Fiberglass does not hold screws well.

If you go to your local boating store they will probably tell you what you need, most come in a kit with mounting hardware and instructions.make sure you use stainlees fastners, especialy when going into hull. Also when drilling use sharp bits and a high speed drill or rotary tool. I use a plunger attatchment on a rotary tool to make sure holes are staight and gass does'nt chip.Make sure you use marine silicone in any holes before screw goes in.
Happy boating
Jim
