1989 Baretta Sucess 200 cuddy cabin shifter cable length??

hi guys, i recently found my shifter cable frayed on my boat. the only problem is, i dont know what length cable to purchase to replace it. i tried looking at the cable, and it has no markings on it. here are the specs i have, any information you could provide would be appreciated.

boat:1989 baretta success 200 cuddy cabin
motor: 1989 volvo penta AQ131D
outdrive: volvo 275

Two words...............

Tape Measure.

You could tape a string to the cable and then measure the string.

I know it can be a PITA but that's the method if you can not read numbers.

Ayuh,.... Or just pull the cable, 'n measure it...

thanks guys,
one more question about measuring the cable. is it measured from physical end to end, or do you just measure the length of the jacketing on the cable?
in other words, are the threaded rod ends included in the measurement?

my cable jacket length is 14ft, if you include the ends, it is about 16ft.

as you can probably guess, i am very new to this stuff. all your help is appreciated
