I have a 1968 Evinrude Sportsman 155 and I need to pull the Engine out to remove the Ball Gear Shaft. Everything has been removed and labeled except for the Drum that the 2 Steering Cables roll onto. This is not a Later Tru-Course Steering. This is the early style that has a Round Drum that the 2 Cables coming from 2 Pullys wraps around. I removed the Screw in the middle of the drum and when I go to remove the Shaft it won't come out. It doesn't seem to be from up, I think something else is still holding it in. Should I just remove the Pin on the Other Side of the Drum and remove the cables and leave the drum in Place. I really don't want to do that...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
