I believe my Cruisers has a "Good" brand windlass. Vertical model. It is a million times better than having to climb up front and drop or retract the anchor manually.

Working on my friends boat. I still have the Monterey and love it.

The cruiser does not have anything on it now. It has a little flip up cap that the rope runs threw. I think I have to remove the Sampson post.

I think vertical windlass?

There are many good companies that make vertical and horizontal windlass' as well as combination models. Stay with namebrands like Maxwell, Lewmar, etc. You'll pay a little more, but you'll get the quality components and the company history and support that go along with it.
