I have a 95 Glastron SSV175 and am looking an upholstery kit for all or part of the seats. I am fairly new to boating so I am unsure of where to look for such. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Upholstery shop best bet boat is already seventeen years old. Shop around at different shops and see what they can do for you. I am doing same thing now mine is 26yr.s old but love it.

I was wondering if any one makes new factory type covers that you essentially pull your old upholstery off and slip the new ones on and glue/staple back on?

No they don't, and without any upholstery experience to speak of, it would turn out marginal at best.
For a complete redo of the interior n a 17' boat (no pics - I'm guesstimating), you are going to spend around $600-$900 for a complete custom interior.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it! I do have some experience doing some automotive upholstery, which is the same concept, but I was thinking if I could buy a kit, it would be much less of a hassle.

I know of one, but they only do interiors for Century's.

Best bet is as previously posted - go to a local upholstery shop and see what they may be able to offer. Second (and more costly) option would be to go to a local full service marina.

Update your avatar information with a general location. You will be surprised who may chime in with a little more local assitance (for instance, I own an upholstery shop....so if you were in central Florida....)

memorial day 002.jpg this was from a custom upolstery shop-nothing fancy but well done in 2007. The Captain's chairs were custom made. I think it was around $1700.

depending on what style you have, you can just buy new seats too like back to back and jump seats.... captain's seats... even some bench seats. it may or may not be better or cheaper than a local shop tho

Take it from my experience...don't waste your time or money. I tried and it turned out bad. Marine vinyl is expensive and it definitely won't match the existing vinyl on a 17 year old rig.

Bite the bullett, take it to a pro and you'll be thrilled with the results.

Re: Glastron upholstery kit?

I was quoted $1500 + from upholstery shops for my 19' Sea Ray. I am sure it would have been worth it, but I just didn't have the cash. I wound up removing the covers from the engine cover, jump seats, bow cushions, and the pad on top of the stern (going to buy new lounge seats) and brought them to a local "seamstress". She took the covers apart, made patterns, and created new covers with marine vinyl and thread a brought her. I then installed the covers myself (which was a lot harder than I thought it would be). It cost me $330 including the vinyl.

On my 19ft Maxum I had the vinyl removed and the seats were reinforced and reseemed at the seems as they were pulling apart, it cost me about $225-275.
