Let's see everyone's classic 20 year old or older boat pics.

Here's my 1982 Grady White 241 Weekender. Took two years to get it into the water and is still a work in progress. Guess I should'nt go fishing so much and I'd have time to work on it more! LoL If you have a restoration link you could also include it. Here's a link to my restoration: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=275835

Before and then two years later finally got it in the water!

Wow! 31 years old and looks like a "new" one. Did you restore it or buy it that way?

It was free :) I restored it. Looked like this when I got it:

That's really super impressive!!!! I've spent about $16K on my restoration so far. and think I will have to have a Viking burial at sea when I go. I got in sooooooo deep it was too late to back out! I went from knowing nothing about boats to knowing a lot about Grady Whites and how expensive it is to restore boats. I guess it must of been a labor of love! Great job.

Don't know if it would be considered a classic, but here is my 1986 Sea Ray Seville. Finished the restore in July.

Here are some pictures of the 1989 Larson DC-300 Contempra that I spent two years restoring and for the past 2 seasons has been a work in progress. The boat is great, not too bad on fuel, and has a nice ride.

The boat is currently having 2 new Edelbrock performer marine carburetors installed, it will be finished this weekend...I can't wait!
The rest of the restoration is in my thread here:http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=364340

Thanks!

1975 Wellcraft Airslot 165. Bought and had to replace transom, deck, and stringers. Ouch! Still would like to paint the hull and get some marine vinyl down on the new deck. Hopefully get that done this winter.

1978 15.5' trihull open bow with a 1982 Evinrude 70 stroke. Lots of fun!

Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)

Our 27 year old "Family Boat" is all original, including canvas and upholstery. The only non-original part is the VHF, which was replaced 2 years ago. The gelcoat has been waxed yearly, but never buffed or vaselined. Currently 1300 engine hours.

Our 59 year old "Sunday Boat" has never been restored, merely "refinished". All the wood is original. The hardware was rechromed. All the wood was merely lightly sanded and repainted or revarnished, but no parts needed to be taken to bare wood. The 1952 Evinrude has a new carb, coils and water pump, and it was repainted.

Naturally, both have always been garage kept, and covered in the garage.

(Oh, the dedicated towcar is 31 years old, has 86,000 miles on it and its always been garage kept too. However, the cover is only on from November to April. Current appraisal for insurance purposes puts the 2011 value at $1000 more than I paid for it new in 1980)

Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)

This is my 1972 Delta 17' runabout, which has been in the family since day one when my dad bought it new. He retired in 1981 and gave me the boat about 12 years ago. The engine was very tired at that time so I had a rebuilt engine put in it and it now runs better than it ever has, even when new, thanks to my converting to an electronic ignition and using the right prop.
