Nauticus SX Smart Tabs?

Does anyone have experience with smart tabs? I have a 17ft seapro 170dc w/ a nisson 90hp outboard and am actually looking to slow this thing down for trolling, or would I be better off using a trolling plate?

Any input would be appreciated!

There is a lot of information on the Nauticus trim tabs if you search the forum. People (including me) love them. But they don't do what you are thinking, a trolling plate would do it.

They have an upper mount bracket that will let you drop the tabs straight down for trolling.See the link: http://www.nauticusinc.com/nauticus_pro_troller.html

Ayuh,... While I haven't tried the Nauticus trolling tabs,...
I do use tabs for trolling...
On days when I need more, I use Drift Socks, tied off the forward corners...

Never liked that trolling plate idea...

I am ready to install bennetts on mine and what to run down when trolling (19ft i/o 4.3) was wondering if they would slow boat down. How much does it slow the boat down?

Ayuh,... I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell ya what Mine does...

I've got Bennetts, that are Waaay Oversized,... 12"x18"...
I've got a Torque-Shift prop, which is 11" pitch at idle,...
When I put the tabs Full down, I can troll down to 1mph/ 1.5mph...
When I throw out the oversized drift socks with 'em,...
I get down to Sub-1mph....

Depending on the wind, of course...

With the Bennet trim tabs can you set them straight down?

With the Pro Trollers do you have to reach over the back of the transom to flip the lever?

Has anyone used the ProTrollers. I ruled out Bennett trim tabs as they don't drop down like trolling brakes.
