What's the cheapest new ski boat. 16-18 feet I/O 4 cylinder?
Cheapest new ski boat?
Not for me, a friend is looking into new boats.
Stingray, Glastron, Bayliner, Tahoe

Yeah, if cheapest goes above best value, you probably need a new habit.Ayuh,... If yer Bud's only buying point is Price,....

Sheesh, the guy asks what the cheapest boat(s) are and everyone starts telling him why their favorite brand is the best bang for the buck instead of answering his question.
To the original poster. Bayliner would probaly be the lowest cost (big name) boat company in the US. They pride themselves as being the price point leader in just about every catagory and they build a very nice boat today. It may not have all the bells and whistles but if it's low cost you are after...
Stingray 180 or 185, darn good value.
I often wonder if any of the people so quick to bash Bayliner have ever owned one. I had one for about 3 years and had a lot of fun with it. For what I wanted (and could afford) at the time it fit the bill perfectly. If I had it to do all over again I honestly would buy another one. Yes, they're inexpensive and rigging is at the low end of the spectrum, but in terms of hull construction there are worse boats out there, mostly for a higher price. Lots of people got their start in boating in a Bayliner, and there are some screaming deals on used ones from people trading up to a more expensive boat. If they were so bad you wouldn't see so many older ones out on the water today.
It's much more important THAT you're on the water than what brand of boat you're in. If your buddy is not sure he wants to drop big money on a more "glamourous" boat then by all means have him look at Bayliners.
