Someone (I won't say who :D ) was a bit sloppy when putting on the teak oil and a fair amount of it ran off onto the gelcoat. Its real hard to get off. Tried standard cleaners, pressure washing, but they don't work. I might try acetone next. Anybody have any suggestions?

Try turpentine or enamel thinner first, if that dosnt work then laguer thinner! When you are done be sure to coat with a good wax!

For cleaning teak oil stains off of gelcoat do not use thinners. They only thin the oil driving it further into the gelcoat. Use a degreaser to lift the oil. This worked on my boat.

Here's a link to an article from DIY-Boat magazine that explains the issue.

http://www.diy-boat.com/Pages/ezine/ez_promo/2001_2/48.pdf
