Battery Box with step

I am looking for a marine battery box that is sturdy enought to function as a step. Has anyone seen one before? I have found some for automotive purposes but they do not encase the battery. I have looked at building a external support and step, but I am afraid it will look shoddy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I think you are going to have to build a step over your battery box, as the only one's I have seen for a boat/RV are plastic.

Re: Battery Box with step

I had a box like that on my starcraft for my trolling motor battery. Unfortunately I built it myself. It really wasn't a big deal. I used a standard battery base and strap to hold the battery down and then built a plywood box to go over the whole deal. Glued some carpet to it and good to go. Had a couple clips to hold it in place and keep it from moving underfoot. If you build one don't forget to cut some holes for ventilation for the battery.
