Isabel did some damage to her running gear and a few dent in the hull.I can make new rudders and buy replacement props but what can I do about the bent struts and locating the nylon packing nuts that were on the rudders.I really want to hang on to this old beauty. It's a 1971 . I have had it for 12 years and I keep it on a lift

I tried to straighten the struts on a boat I once had. Took a chain, applied pressure then heated the strut. It slowly came back to what I thought was straight. Shaft went right in but in a few hours I could see the cutlass bearing was showing wear so bit the bullet and bought new strut. You might try that and who knows get lucky and line that puppy right up. Are the packing glands bronze or what?

Come to marinette forum web site or the Marinette forum on delphi.

I run the marinetteforum.org site.
Marinette still sells the struts!
