Just bought a 2008 Triton 17 Explorer. There is a step leading up to the front fishing deck. Does any one know what is under this step? Or how to pull it up? It has carpet on it. It has one small, machined phillips head bolt, sticking up in the carpet. When I remove this bolt I can not get the step to move free. Any Ideas or experience removing this step?
For the curious. I want to install a base plate on this step to receive an umbrella pole. On my last fishing boat I installed a base to receive an umbrella pole for the front and rear seats. While out fishing on the lake in the summer sun, I am sitting in the cool shade of an umbrella. Also works great when it rains to keep you warm and dry. Any way, anyone have the answer.
