Pick your days and you'll be OK. Saw one out front with the fleet yesterday off Chesapeake Beach. Winds SW at 5 kt or less, seas- flat
Downside, not enough deadrise in the hull. Wouldn't want to be out there with winds much over 7-8 kts, if that. The chop will beat you silly.
Wind against tide even worst. We have a prevailing South winds in the summer. Gets darn right nasty out there with an outgoing tide. Stay in the river and you should be good to go.

the boat i am lookinf for is for fishing and fun, what would be my choice? i want to spend around 5-6, QUOTE]
The fish and ski bayliner is a good choice. The engine is like a car engine so minor repairs are easy. Example an alternator belt broke on mine and even though I know absolutely nothing about engines especially boat engines I was able to replace the belt from Auto Zone. No way could I do something like that on my current Yamaha 300 HPDI outboard. THe seating is also nice for family cruise, tubing and skiing. Mine went about 35-38mph at top speed which was fast enough for me, especially since it was first boat I owned.
While It was ok for Fishing it didnt have the true fishing stuff of a real fishing boat. Only had one Rod holder I mounted and it was not flush mounted, No mounted livewell and fish boxes, no raw water washdown hoses etc. Of course none of that stopped me from catching fish in it!
Current boat has a cabin walkaround cause wife wanted the private bathroom (head).
Here is pic of bayliner, much like my first Mustang it will always be a boat with lot of great memories to me.
I have a whaler and of course it is a center console, but I have to admit it is not plush. Fun and functional, but not a comfortable boat for a group of friends to just sit and talk. There has got to be a compromise between a pretty lake boat like the Bayliner and the stout bay skipper like the Whaler.Ovrrdrive
the boat i am lookinf for is for fishing and fun, what would be my choice? i want to spend around 5-6, first i was looking for central consol but they are expensive even year 1993-1998,and i thought i need outbourd (approx 90 to 120HP) not sure about brand and i thought about this because cheaper service or repair.but if get central consol fishing boat , then i would not be able take my friends to bay for boating and fun , but if i get something like bayliner then i get both (fish and fun) i saw chapparel once for 6000, year 1994, 20-21 f, 3.0 mercru, with cabin,i did like it, and later i realized if i get something with cabin , then i loose space on the nose if am fishing.so still looking for boat , but in area i live not much sellers,(Harrisburg PA)
