hi i just got a pontoon boat for free from a friend but it needs all the wiring done can someone tell be how to go about wiring it where do i start

You find a spot for the battery. Two 10 gauge wires (red and black) from there to the fuse or circuit breaker panel at the helm. Insert a MASTER ON/OFF switch in the red wire if you wish. From the breaker panel you run separate circuits (two wires - one hot, one ground) to each device (lights, radio, etc.). Gauges need +12 volts and ground and each gauge can be jumpered from one to the next. The +12 volt feed for the gauges comes from the "A" terminal on the ignition switch. The instrument lights are fed from the NAV terminal on the Nav/Anchor light switch. See the Generic Wiring Diagram in the Electronics forum.
