Seriously. I would hate to be traveling along and here a scraping noise coming from this in my rear view.

It is an interesting way to get the trailer back on the road. Although I sure hope no one tries to load anything on it.

Are those your pics tn? Any more you can add to the story?

If they only had the 2 boards then it may have made more sense to put the 2x4's on the sides, they would act more like a vertical beam that way. In the pic they are stronger horizontal than they are in a vertical load. 2 more boards, wider ones, and deck-screw them together after the strapping would have made for a more reliable trip back home with much less chance of testing the limits of liability of those involved when something goes wrong. And the way they have the trailer's winch hooked up is adding to the stress on their joint. I hope they and everybody on the road around them had good luck as the trip progressed

Here is one from near me. I love the description of the " Mint Trailer " . Especially the rust and the bad tires and mismatched wheels.

looks like a neat project if you ask me. would take a lot to get it on the water. but i love these kind of boats. F it, i love all boats. haha

I'm with you, drop a crate motor in, new outdrive and custom interior it would be a really cool boat. Before I get flamed I know it would cost huge dollars but this might be the one time you just might get it back. I suspect 40-50k would complete it. That boat completely finished would easily get your money back.

I agree. The 21ft versions are selling for 30k around here. 26ft offshore, man that would be a fun boat!

The ad says "life vest". I assume it is only one. But you only need one as nobody else will have the guts to go with you.

Oh good I feel better now

Notice the handy man in a can sealing the seams, no worries he's got this!

Sure hope some PFDs come with it...

That reminds me of a "boat" I saw on a small lake north of Parry Sound Ontario a few weekends back. Someone strapped a 20 HP to a big swim platform dock thing on plastic drums and had more than 16 young guys and gals and a dog from my count. The water line was maybe 3" from the top of the "boat". A lot of screaming and yelling and having a good old time until the wee hours of the morning until a few slipped into the 58F water when they tried to go up some fast water to the next lake. Some serious shrivel factor there. Not a PFD in sight. The dog was the smartest aboard. Why didn't I think of that when I was 20?

Somebody is going to be pissed off when they find a piece of their dock missing

That thing should be slightly above neutral buoyancy ... before the beer is added!

its hollow you know....... it probably has a TON of buoyancy based on its dimensions.....If it is sealed and glued....it has to float...
