I am looking at a 1991 Grumman 16' Aluminum boat to buy. The owner has said that the transom had been cut to accomodate the motor. I am assuming that the transom was lowered to make a short shaft motor fit on a boat designed for a long shaft.
Can anyone tell me if this is ok? Is there a way I can tell if it was done correctly, so that the structural integrity of the boat is not damaged?
Thanks,
mtsl
