I have seen fuel flow meters on larger boats. Considering the cost of fuel, I am looking to put one on my 1985 85hp Bayliner Capri. I am looking for some recommendations.

Thanks in advance,

John

I have a Flow Scan on my flats boat (150 hp) and it really seems to work well.

For the price it's pretty hard to beat the Northstar F210 2" Digital Fuel System. Currently on sale for under $100.

I have been looking for a flo-scan f210. Everyplace I call either says that they are out of stock or have been discontinued. Anyone have the scoop?

The F210 has been discontinued but they are out there if you look hard enough.

One of the large boating stores had them in stock when I checked last week.

Lowrance LMF 200 is a great multi-function gauge that happens to be a great flow meter/fuel gauge and can be used for pretty much any other gauge you can think of. <$150.

I second the Floscan gauges.
I have the Accutroll series for low consumption 4-stroke outboards and they work flawlessly.

I had a couple of questions about the Floscan, and their customer service answered my emails promptly and courteously.

I got them from Rogue Wave marine which had the best price

Re: Wanted: Suggestions for outboard fuel flow meter

This might be a little off topic. I have an 1975 aquasport hull, with a 2001 Johnson 115HP. Boat has no fuel gauge, which is quite an inconvenience.. Would a flow meter do the trick? They seem reasonable priced and easy to install. Are there less expensive solutions. Key objectives are:

1) Not run out of gas
2) Determine how much gas is used on each trip (I own the boat with a friend).

The boat does have an hour meter.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks to all who responded. I have read the Lowrance 200 Multi Function manual and I believe that this unit may be overkill for me. It needs you to run a couple of five gallon tanks through it for calibration. Hell, I only use four gallons on a normal fishing trip. I just don't see the bang for the bucks in my situation.

Regards,

John
