It cost me about 15 bucks.
I got a five gallon tank in the boat plus a 20 mile ride in the truck

12' alum Jon boat = Electricity for for 2 deep cycle batteries (trolling motor)

14' alum Jon boat = 6 gals gas plus electricity for one deep cycle

24' Stamas cuddy = 180 gals gas plus offshore bait and 2 days worth of
consumables.

Cheap fishing mostly unless I go out for the big-un's:D

$16,500 plus fuel and bait. I haven't used the new pontoon yet! Looking forward to the second trip as that one will only be $8,000 plus gas.

LOL -
50 Gal boat fuel @ 3.62 = $181
4 Gal truck fuel @ 3.62 = $14.50
4 bags ice @ 2.00 = $8
2 flats herring @ 5.00 = $10
2 cartons squid @ 3.50 - $7.00

Grand total - $220

Getting skunked on halibut and feeding all your bait to the dogfish sharks - priceless.

Re: How much does it cost you to go fishing

Boat fishing:

Drive to lake, 10 miles from house, pulling trailer: $8.00
1.5 gal. fuel for 6 hp engine: $5.25 (will last about 4 hours fishing, or more.)
Oil for 6 hp engine: $0.25
Charge trolling motor battery: $0.05

Catfishing on river:

Drive to river in compact car: $2.25

That's it.

So, it's under $14 for a day's fishing on the boat, or the price of a cup of cofee to sit on a public dock, fishing in the Mississippi. Lots cheaper than blood pressure medicine, I think.

With beer and lottery tickets probly $25 at the most, we always get $5 worth of tickets, anything we win goes in the tackle box for the boat, still trying to hit a new trolling motor, we are going tommoro so maybe....
Gotta go coax the mower in to life for the first time this year.

Using current Flowood, MS gas prices:

Pulling bass boat with Titan, 6 mile round trip = $3.42 * .5 gallons = $1.71
Running 150HP Evinrude on Skeeter SF-175 = $3.61 * 2.5 gallons = $9.03

This does not include charging 3 batteries, 1/2-3/4 jar of crappie power bait, oil, food, and other fishing needs or supplies.

Re: How much does it cost you to go fishing

Raiding the ice machine at work = FREE
Shad caught with cast net = FREE
Maybe 2 miles to the closest ramp , 8 to the farthest , so , $3.50 tops for the XJ .
Dig some wigglers for backup , again , FREE .
Minnows , maybe $7 .
Crickets , FREE ( requires short expedition under house..) :D
Snacks , drinks , sandwiches ~ $15 , more for a long weekend .
Fuel and oil for boat = $6.50 per outing , figuring a 6 gallon tank with 50:1 premix lasts about 3 trips .

Not really all that worried about WHATEVER it costs = PRICELESS .

Re: How much does it cost you to go fishing

If I added up all of my gotta have lures, fishing poles, tackle boxes, boat, truck to tow the boat, gas, oil, license, etc. It would be cheaper for me to have Emeril Lagasse fly in on his personal jet to cook me a seafood dinner, but where's all of the fun in that?
Time on the water with your loved ones, PRICELESS.

Re: How much does it cost you to go fishing

I live about 20 miles from the nearest lake i have an alum tracker so it's not to heavy doesn't add to much to the truck gas mileage. so i have that and the fuel and oil i use in the boat.. $3 fee per person to fish $4 boat launch fee and they charge me $3 to take my lab.. he's about 95-100 lbs and they charge me for him every time i go.. i guess he's like a person..

Re: How much does it cost you to go fishing

Let's see..........

Boat holds 29g of gas and I may use 1/4 = $29 @ 4.00/Gallon
Rods, reels, & Lures are already paid for = $0
20 miles to get to the marina where my boat is in dry storage - $3.50
2 Beers (all I allow myself if I am alone) - $3.00
Dry storage ($90/month, divided 6 (4 weeks times roughly 1.5 trips per week) = $15

So we are at $50.50........

Not a bad deal since my wife is in school and I would not see her on Saturdays anyway.

Oh yeah, the calm and relaxing nature of the waters I frequent....... PRICELESS.
