Was surprised to find the bottom hole of the plate that supports my bow eye was being used to tie off the anchor rode of my windlass . The eye is supported by the top hole of the plate and nut but the bottom has the nut only . On a 89 GW 20 ft W/A . Doesn't seem like the right way to do this . Comments please .

Certainly not a good idea to not have a backing plate under both nuts. Make another plate so both can be used, or else put the original back where it belongs. Then stop at a hardware store and get a piece of flat stock. Drill a hole in it and mount it under one of the nuts. A hole in the other end will provide a spot to tie off the rope.

Thanks Silvertip , Don't think the dealership owner is going to be happy to hear about this workmanship . Pay top dollar and expect the best from them ,that's what keeps me coming back . I only trailer to my slip and back and a few short runs yearly but I thought I was as safe as possible . Will follow your advice . Larry
