Re: SIRIUS Satellite Radio reactivating stolen radios

So they "don't want to penalize the innocent person who bought it off eBay or somewhere" but WILL penalize the person who comes out to their car and finds the window(s) broken to get the radio that they will reactivate. They are creating the demand. If they refused to reactive a stolen radio then there would be no market for the "innocent" person to get stuck with a stolen radio. If everyone were to deluge them with email about this concern I'm sure they would fix their act. Till then, you, the consumer, is forked.

personally i think their policy sucks. report it stolen, the unit should be dead. if the words go out, that if the owner doesn't transfer registration, there would be no market. could be done very simply. if you want to sell or give away the unit. you register with sirius, who gives you a code number for the transfer. the new owner uses the number to activate the unit in their name. this could easily be done on line.
