I need to know what connection to use on my anchor rode to make it properly roll up in the windlass. I have 10' of 1/4" chain and 150' of 1/2" nylon. What is the connection between the two supposed to be? The rope will roll up until it hits the joint w/ a shackle.
Thanks

You need to have the rope spliced onto the chain. There is no fitting that will work. Great website for "how-to splice."

When usig an anchor windless you must have a swivel between the anchor and the chain tho prevent twisting.

An Eye Splice is not the correct way to attach the rode to the chain for use with a windless. There are two diffetent types of splices that will work. I prefer the first method.

Rode to Chain Splice

Rode to Chain Wrap
