botttom paint and keelguard

i have a keelguard i want to put on the boat , it is now gelcoat im going to sand etc and paint.......my question is im using some interlux optima abalitive bottom paint.. can i put the keel guard over this or will i need to put the keel guard on firt and bottom paint over / around it .... thnks

It seems to Me that there would be Less of a chance of it coming Off,....<br />If the Keel Guard was installed 1st.....
