I am replacing the deck, stringers, etc. on my boat.

Should I consider replacing the fuel tank?

The tank is an Inca brand 1993 Model F03100A. The label does say CrossLink Poly.

No info via Google.

Once I got the dirt and pebbles out of the tank a couple of years back, I stopped having fuel problems!

Guessing the tank has been removed to replace stringers, look at the outside and see if there is any corrosion.

If tank has not been removed and is foamed in then at this time it would be a good idea to remove and inspect if there is any sign of water in the foam

At that age, I would suspect permeation issues. At a minimum, I would pull it out and take a good looking. Better than Murphy coming to visit a few months down the road.

Finally got the tank out. Here are pics of the bottom of the tank and where it sat in the boat.

There is black slimy sludge and there is a chemical smell if you put your nose up to the tank.
