Useful information on Glastron/Larson VEC Unitized Construction

That is interesting. My Larson has engineered (non-wood) stingers, and I always wondered if it was a VEC hull or not. From what I read, my boat is not a VEC hull. Larson must have been using some other non-wood technology before they went with VEC. I've never been able to find a name for that process, though...

Interesting. Now I know where the foam is in my Larson.


From my research there were at least two separate processes for VEC hull construction; your Larson would likely fall into the first process.

2001-2006: Simple VEC hull without stringers, stringers were laminated into the liner/deck/pan then that whole piece was bonded to the VEC hull
2007-2010: Fully unitized VEC hull w/ stringers transom etc laid into the mould

Interesting... so I have a Delta Conic hull built with the early VEC process, I guess.
