So we sold our old Sea Ray BR last summer after we got our Maxum Cruiser. We really love the cruiser and plan to keep it, but the kids really miss water sports, so I started perusing Craigslist for end of summer deals. I got a really good deal on this 2001 Sea Ray 180 with 3.0. It was a little rough at 1st and came with a mismatched trailer, but that is why I got it so cheap. I know, it is only a 3.0, but this is my 3rd 4 cylinder BR, and they have all worked fine for our needs. Does anyone have a link to the 3.0 manual?

Try the SeaRay website. They had a lot more info there, that I had expected.

Hope it works out for you. I see plenty of smiles on people riding around in 3 liters.

Thanks everyone. It's working out great so far. ...the kids love it and I love that I paid less than half of the NADA value.

Already had it out 2 weekends, with plenty more to go here.

SD, you may recall we had some correspondence in the past. Like you I also sold by SeaRay Seville and bought a small cruiser (Chaparral). Do you have a link showing your Maxum? I can appreciate your kids wanting a small boat for fun, I also still have a very slow project ongoing for the 16ft Glastron boat for the same reason. Good luck with your new toy.

So great to hear from you AMD! No links to the Maxum, but here are a few pics. How is the Glastron coming?

We started off with the exact same boat and was able to pull two experienced skiers on double skis. Economy is wonderful with a 3.0L as well. The reason we upgraded to our 24' boat is because we had a growing family and I wanted the smallest bowrider that had an enclosed head for our potty training children.

Yeah, the economy is great. We can cruise around all day for $40. In addition to skiing and tubing, we will certainly be using this one for some kelp bed fishing (1/2 to 2 miles off shore). The Maxum is not really great for fishing, especially with the radar arch in the way.
