Hi everyone. New here to the forum, joping somebody can answer what is probably an easy question.
My travel cover is a factory cover from Legend. It has a ratcheting system to tighten cover. The ratchets are starting to rust pretty badly, and id like to replace them. Is this as simple as just feeding new straps and ratchets through the cover? Im assuming theyre connected at the bow. Should i just pull the straps out of the ratchets, temporarily tie a new strap to old one, and pull through and attach new ratchets?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I would locate a local custom boat cover maker, take your cover or you whole rig to him/her, they would likely steer you in the right direction.

It might be as simple as having them cut the ratchets off and sew in the new ratchet without removing the entire piece of webing.

You may not have to go to custom cover shop, if you can find the ratchets go on Craigs list or something and find somebody that does custom sewing. Ya never know, granny down the street might be all over that.
