I own a 2005 Larson SEI 180, powered by Volvo 4.3 with Penta SX-M out drive. My shifting cable needs replacing but I can't remove the control from its starboard side mount. Not sure of make, does have trim switch and center push button for neutral start. Tried to attach pic of control but site tells me I'm not authorized to post my pic. Any help would be welcomed.

Making progress, I'll post as I figure out this control without a manual. At least have it off now, next to get cables off. No room to work behind on this model.

the hardest part is figuring out the length of the cable

I hear that, I measured using a pic I have in the Volvo manual, two lengths and add 18 inches. I will compare that to cable I get out. The adjustments on current cable are both screwed on shaft as far as they will go. Leads me to believe cable has stretched and I'm sure it's original, 12 yrs old.

The cable should have a number stamped on the sheath, on one end or the other when you get it out you will find it.
