What steering system do I need?

1987 skeeter starfire 175-D with a GT 150 johnson.

Cables siezed up. Teeth in helm stripped.
So I need a whole new setup.

It currently had a dual cable rotary helm setup on it. Do I need a dual helm for a 150? It only does maybe 47mph max.

I really know nothing about these systems so if there is a better setup, or cheaper, or if I only need a single cable setup that would be great info! Anything helps! Thanks!

if you have two helms, yes, you need a dual helm steering

if you have a single helm, then you need a single helm system

I looked up your boat, you have a single helm (only one steering wheel). you do have dual consoles

not sure what you posted, however iBoats sells steering

the two things you need to know, are you currently rack and pinion or rotary helm and how long is the cable. your current cable has a length printed on it.

then I suggest you buy the no-feed-back (NFB) version.

here are rotary http://www.iboats.com/SeaStar-Xtreme...view_id.961870

here are rack and pinion http://www.iboats.com/SeaStar-Soluti...-view_id.40295
