I picked up this hull some time back. It's a 1989 Wahoo! 18.5 Sportfish. My friend has one and always liked it, so when one presented itself a grabbed it. The time has come to put her back in service. After cleaning, I pumped some gas in to judge if it has any holes. Well, it does. The hull was full of gasoline this morning, so no point in putting it off. I'm posting this in hopes of helping someone else who has the same problem. It's really not too bad. It took me about 2.5 hours to get it out.
The manufacturer was nice enough to cast an outline in the deck to make it easy to make the cut out for the removal.
I used a forklift to yank it out of the foam, which was easy. It would be a challenge otherwise.
This tank is 48 gallons! I plan to put a 30 gallon (ish) tank in at the front of the hole to help balance the boat because I plan to end up with a 4-stroke on the back.
I'll update as I get through it.
