Cut a hole in your garage door or get a trailer with an articulating tongue or park it outside. Get the 16 footer. You will thank yourself in a few years, or a few trips. My father bought a 1970 Mercury Marquis Brougham back in the early 70's, talk about a boat. To make it fit we knocked out a few blocks in the back wall. It fit then.

I don't know if the to tongue would do it. I have to take the engine off my 16 footer to get inside the garage. I don't mind but I only have to do so once a year. If you plan on storing year round, the 16 is probably too big. Is there room to park it diagonally? 16 footer would also mean a larger engine and more $$$. I think you would like the 16 a lot more though.

I can't imagine a 16 foot boat being 21 and a half feet on the trailer,...

On my old 16 foot boot I could tilt the motor down and the swing tongue was just about at the bow in front of the winch post,..

I could get it to 19 feet or so easy,....

Fulton makes a kit that you can install on the tongue of the trailer to make it a swing-away tongue. Super easy to install, I think they're $150 or less.
