I currently have a spark tester like this.

I'm not happy with it. It has never been easy to see the spark except in low light conditions. The spring obscures the spark.

What spark tester would you recommend?

I use one like this; it can be clipped to ground or the spark plug for inline testing. The only time I have trouble seeing a spark jump is when there isn't one.

I second GA_Boater's suggestion. I think most on these forums use that one. Most any auto parts store has them and they are pretty cheap too.
