Just bought this 1999 Blue Wave w/ 99' Yamaha 130 saltwater series. Motor started and ran fine, powered up to shoot across the lake and shortly after planing out the temp alarm came on, I came to idle and alarm went off. Motor was peeing fine so not sure what the issue was. Ran boat probably for another hour with no alarm however temp bar on digital gauge continued to blink. Any advice would be appreciated. Have a big bay trip planned for next Monday.

Have you replaced the impeller? The cooling passages could be blocked or the thermostat could be failing as well as well. A good tell-tale only shows cooling water is reaching the block and is not always an indication of cooling system health.

Peeing fine at idle doesn't mean much if it overheated at speed. The impeller is always first to check/replace, and then you have to consider whether there is scaling and blockage in the passages that is reducing flow.
