Chad, it's best to ask a separate question in a separate post. It gets you more answers and saves confusion. That said, a wake tab is a center trim tab that adjusts the pitch of the boat. Regular trim tabs, on the sides, do that and can adjust the list also. Wake tabs and trim tabs use the pressure of the water flowing to lift the stern.

On an inboard boat, the pitch can not be adjusted like it could with an I/O or an outboard. Using a wake tab allows a loaded wakeboard boat, or ski boat to pop out of the water very quickly. After it is up to speed the tab can be lifted to let the hull settle more into the water which changes the shape of the wake. Think of a wake tab as a wake shaper, but it is also very useful for adjusting the attitude of the hull if the boat is in chop or rough water. This can let you run your boat safer and at a better speed than if you did not have an adjustable tab.
