Thinking about buying a boat from a friend. It's a 1978 Thunder Craft 14 foot. He said the HIN is TCT05715M78H. It must be either a 150C or 150SS Titan, what is the difference? Trying to establish a value...

Welcome aboard:

I think the difference is that the "C" model is closed bow and the "SS" is a bow rider. But that's a guess based on a little web searching. Otherwise, they're effectively the same boat. And I would say there's nearly no value difference.

Open bow is almost always worth more than a closed bow
Well, that's probably true ... but in a '78 Thundercraft it's not much more. In my area, it's probably the difference of a couple hundred bucks at the outside. Cool little boats, but they were a dime a dozen, and not many folks like 'em that small any more.
