It says kingfisher on the sides. Somebody is going to give it to me for free as it was abandoned in the storage area of where I live. I don't know the size, year or anything about it. Transom feels/sounds solid. I know it will need some work to get it back into a lake ready state. I have plans for some of it. Also, what size outboard and trolling motor do you think would be a good fit? I think it will be a good project for my sons and I. Thank in advance guys.

Thanks JB, that helps alot. The hull feels and sounds solid and the chairs will work for a while. I do know that I will have to rewire everything, get new stuff for the livewell, anew steering cable, new bilge pump and pull all the carpet for starters. My youngest son always wants to build something so I think it would make a good project. Can't put a price on quality father and son time. Some of my best memories were working with my dad restoring a 1969 Camaro Z28.

Yeah, that would be my first question, is there a title to it and what are the requirements in your state for titling boats. That would be the first thing before I even accepted it.

No title but has been abandoned for years and I think with a letter from the complex stating that they were abandoned I should have no trouble getting a title. Chris

I'd call the tax office and ask them about it before spending any money on the boat. Most of the time with any boat, not having a title and it being abandoned can take an act of congress to get papers for it. It could also possibly be a stolen boat that someone left behind over the years. Who knows, but its worth asking and checking before you do anything. I'd hate to see you and your sons to put time and money into a project and never be able to enjoy it

You could probably get a decent boat, trailer, and motor for less than the cost of rehabbing that one.

I did. I bought a newer bass boat. Gonna grab this one too and set it aside to work on later just to keep me busy. Maybe raffle it off to donate the money to Russ Martin Listeners foundation.
