I noticed years ago the horrible ride in my flat jon boat,on occasions we were on a lake. With the 16' jon boat, like 1650,25-50hp motor,is there a real improvement in the MV hull,or is it imagined?Looking for someone that has been able to compare both .

Mine is 1872 MV, 6 degree deadrise back at transom....not a very smooth ride in chop, waves, swells, whatever....but confident it's some better than flat Jon....We were crossing Lake George just last week down in Florida with some white-cap chop and all we could do is just churn our way across it....O.K., but takes longer...

Not much. You need V and weight for a soft ride. Sorry but that's the way it works.
