While researching this specific gauge, I found Honda tilt trim gauges are specific to Honda? I noted the gauge has an extra wire for the back light. What I cant find is information on the signal wire voltage or mA.
At the gauge, I have 12 VDC across the purple (+) and black (-) leads and the voltage across the signal (S) to ground ramps from .65VDC to 5.6 VDC. The supply voltage from the connection inside the engine cover is 5.9 VDC to the rheostat, the signal wire ramps from .65 to 5.0 VDC. I applied 9 VDC to the (S) connection and 12 VDC with no gauge movement.
Any one know what the signal supply to the rheostat and signal ramp voltage should be. It's not uncommon to have low control voltage (0-5 VDC) but I have never seen it on a boat before.
Thanks
