ok so just acquired a Hammond boat was told it's 22ft (it's long) has a cuddy and a v8 will be doing a lot of work to make it a nice usable piece. currently just looking for info and other boats to look at for ideas on what to do and not to do. not much going to happen till spring as I'm in Ontario and its getting cold outside

She looks pretty good in the pics. Do yourself a big favor and be sure the sub structure, stringers and transom wood are in good shape before you put any money into her. Hate to see you have surprises after spending money on other things.

transom seems solid (I did one in my last boat)
discovered today motor is way worse than I was lead to believe. I was told it had a bad head gasket but today I discovered water pouring out of 7 of the 8 plug holes as I removed them
so trying to decide what the next plan is

Bad head gasket can let water into the cylinders, but so can bad block or heads.

skinny, water, even pouring out of any cylinder, could be from a lot of things, and yes even a creaked block. But wait to verify that before doing anything else. I would most certainly rip it apart to see exactly where that water was coming from. Then if it is something easy to fix, move forward. :thumb:
