Re: Motor mount construction - which wood and orientation is best

My take: (just my two cents)
Inboard - direct torque from prop shaft on the four motor mounts
I/O two motor mounts and transom mount. Torque forces transmitted directly to the transom. Little to no torque on mounts. Just my two cents. Can anyone comment on this?

sorry to say, my '62 chris craft 283 does seem to have to much torque to cause issues, seems to pull to the drivers side, thus leaving a gap for water to leak around the prop, I guess my question inside a question is, are a good solid nut and bolt a good replacement for the lags, that no longer seem to do the job.

Aren't Chris Crafts from '62 inboards with a transmission and drive shaft? You may have more problems than just motor mounts.
