I have the history on these Hi-Laker Boats if anyone is interested. My question has anyone opened up the stern seats and used this area as storage? I've been thinking of opening one side and use it as placement for the battery and filled the area around the battery with upright flotation material and on the other side use it for storage. And of course covering each seat with a nice wood teak seat cover.

I wonder if those spaces are for flotation? So it will swamp and not totally sink?
Someone will come along and tell you why it's not a good idea.

I'm looking for a new boat trailer for my 14' Hi-Laker boat which weighs about 450 lbs. I've been told be some that the aluminum trailer is better then the galvanized. Another thing is it better to have a roller trailer then the bunk type?
