Yeah, still looking. I can tell you that trailer was too much for that boat. It was rated for 5k lbs. That much I could see.

We thought about buying it and selling the trailer. Hell maybe we could scrap it. Lol

Thanks smokeonthewater looking at these now....

Love this one, going to see it tomorrow its barely under our weight limit based on the specs we've received. http://louisville.craigslist.org/boa/5151402490.html

This one is still a contender but is just a little too small http://louisville.craigslist.org/boa/5175437014.html

This might be too big... http://dayton.craigslist.org/boa/5143855116.html

This one is 4 hrs away so we have to be committed but I love it.... http://eastky.craigslist.org/boa/5165896366.html

I would personally shy away from the bass boat style with the kid/s depending on age.

That Lowe with the 25 hp is probably the best type in your price range and weight limit. If you could find the slightly wider version with the 40/50 hp it would be better

The 2006 Lowe you're going to see is a great boat although a 25HP motor is half of what it should have as a minimum, it would be best with a 70.

Stay away from those flat bottomed skinny boats like the Bass Tracker, not good at all if the water gets rough.

The Starcraft looks to be in pretty good condition in the pics. :thumb:

No Title

I can't tell from the pictures the exact model, but if it's the FM165s it's in my opinion over priced being that under powered. It looks smaller than that, but maybe the motor is throwing me off, and I'm not sure if they made a 14/15 footer that year (which probably would be rated for 40/50 if they did) I want to say that year 165s was rated for 70/75 and a 25 on that is going to be a dog if that's the case. Regardless it looks to be in good condition for a 15 year old boat. Price is very dependent on area and time of year. If it were me I might wait until it's closer to winter and get a great deal from someone who doesn't want to pay for/ have storage.

My boat is a 2004 FM175s and its maxed out with the 115 hp Opti and with a couple of guys with me, live wells full, and a tank of gas I sometimes wish I had some more hp.
